Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. S1.E03 [Fuck Your Gravity, Bitch]

After last weeks baller-ass-fight in the sky, the Agents of SHIELD’s newest mission ends with the birth of a villain and a hero.

Now that Skye has decided to be a full-time field agent, hacking computers won’t be very useful when someones has gun to your head. Agent Ward has been training her — hoping that she’ll take her new position seriously–but Skye is conflicted. Will she remain loyal to SHIELD or The Rising Tide? Seriously, WHO THE FUCK IS THE RISING TIDE AND WHEN WILL WE SEE THEIR FACES? I think it’s pretty obvious by the end of the episode where she wants to be.

The team decides to send Skye, Ward and Coulson on a mission to rescue Dr.Franklin Hall from Ian Quinn. The doctor is special because his research led to the creation of gravitonium. WHAT THE FUCK IS GRAVITONIUM?? Well, it manipulates gravity fields, obviously; and the douchebag–Ian Quinn– wants to exploit it for his own purposes. It turns out that Dr. Hall wanted to be kidnapped so that he could prevent his stolen idea from destroying millions of lives. Too bad he’s a fucking maniac that had to be dealt with via Coulson. The face-off ends with Dr. Hall falling into his own creation, and thus Gravitron is born ya’ll.

Skye quickly realizes she doesn’t have the balls to shoot a guy, which prompts her to start taking her training seriously. Her and Ward open up to each other about their pasts, and now I have a better understanding of her loner ways vs. his over-protective nature.

Coulson nearly dies, again, which serves as the catalyst for May’s decision to be engaged in field combat whenever necessary. This means more scenes of her wrecking shop and I’m all for it.

Overall this was another solid entry for the series and if Skye hasn’t grown on your yet–she probably never will.
